Problem

Recruiters receive an astronomical quantity of resumes, often all identical.They read them diagonally and don't have the time to linger on them for too long.

Also, with the COVID crisis, recruiters have taken the habit of video interviews and are becoming more and more familiar with this practice.

What kind of recruiters should you target?

  • Recruiters of large companies who don't have time to look at resumes and who need to have access to a pre-selection.
  • Startups that do not have a human resources function and need to be supported in this area.

Specialize in a specific sector of activity (e.g. outdoor sports, electrical industry...).

At first, aim for a wide range of candidates, and refine your offer as you interview recruiters.

If you are specialized in a sector and know perfectly the recruiters' expectations. Go for it.

Solution 1: You are a recruitment agency, sourcing type, and you send weekly profiles to your clients according to their criteria.

Solution 2: You are a profile bank (platform) and recruiters come to look for profiles thanks to your solution.

Each week you can send X video profiles to recruiters according to their criteria or you can give them access to the whole video bank without giving the contacts (only video pitch + skils + job wanted).

If the company wants to get in touch with the candidate, they have to pay.

Monthly subscription:

You can opt for a monthly subscription model with several plans depending on the number of contacts the company can have or pay per contact request.

Pay per contact:

Payment per contact. Each company has credits that it has purchased and uses its credits with the candidates it wants to meet.

Step 1: Testing & iteration

Use Linkedin to get in touch with companies. Ask them what their recruitment needs are. You can just send them a questionnaire with the type of candidate they are looking for with soft skills and hard skills.

Then search on linkedin, twitter for your future candidates. Send them a questionnaire with videoask.

The advantage of videoask is that the video can not exceed 2 minutes.

Once the profiles are received, present them to the companies.If they want to contact them, they have to pay you. At this stage, you don't even need a website, platform, or landing page.

Step 2: Scaling the business

When you feel traction on an activity sector or a profile type.

You can start creating a landing page, your platform and use the business model you have validated.

But you can also just base your business on email.

When a candidate matches with a recruiter, you send the profile to the recruiter.If the recruiter is interested he pays you via PayPal or a payment page (stripe, gumroad...).

For this type of business, I will almost exclusively use and press relations, Linkedin and Twitter.

I will also create content about the benefits for recruiters and candidates of matching profiles through video and Skills.

Then googles ads/facebook ads for candidate recruitment. But to be tested.

The key is going to be spending time finding companies and candidates.Use linkedin, job platforms.

Find candidates that match the job offers of the platforms. And send these candidates for free to the companies found on linkedin.
